You could try writing your bud a letter. Ask her what's going on and what you did wrong. Tell her you care about her and miss her friendship. Ask her if she wants to continue the friendship. If she writes back or speaks to you, then you two can work things out. If she doesn't respond, then you have your answer.

You should get to know him first, to the point where you know his good and bad sides. Don't think the only way to get to know a guy is by going out with him-- that's not when you want to realize all the things you don't like about him. Take it slow.
